Yes, the times they are a'changing. I'm working on a new body of work in a new medium. I'm creating a series of portraits of dogs using the traditional method of woodblock printing.
Since a little Shiba Inu called Hachi came to live with me, we have met so many dogs (it happens when you spend hours in the park) and the variation within the species amazes me. Getting to see and understand their different characters amazes me. Their domestication amazes me. Generally speaking, I am continually amazed by dogs.
The project 'Dogs of Warwick Gardens' (let's say DOWG for short) will be exhibited alongside screen prints of collections by Kaylene Alder at Studio 73 in Brixton Village, London. The exhibition opens on the 1st September. But until then I will be posting my progress right here and on Instagram (@abihey).
